Resources for Financial Aid Professionals

RIHEAA reaches out to schools in a variety of ways. Our staff holds loan workshops twice per year that are designed to keep FAP's up to date with the ever changing regulations that govern the Federal Loan Programs.

Additionally, RIHEAA visits schools throughout the year as a way to give aid professionals one-on-one training as well as to address any loan processing issues that may have come up. RIHEAA staff also set-up mini training sessions with FAP's at our office to brainstorm fresh ideas that will help them in their everyday loan processing.

The Common Manual

"The Common Manual is an introduction to and overview of participation in the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP). It is designed to help train new financial aid and student loan personnel and to assist the experienced officer in finding answers to questions about federal regulations and guarantor policy." (Common Manual, Pg. 1)

The Common Manual is now available on the web in Adobe PDF format.

Scholarship & Grant Programs

RIHEAA administers the Rhode Island State Grant, the CollegeBoundfund Academic Promise Scholarship and the Rhode Island Children's Crusade Scholarship. Financial Aid Officers will be contacted during the awarding season to verify enrollment status for recipients of all three programs. All enrollment verification is performed via our Web Information Portal.
