The College Aid Calculator (CAC) estimates your educational expense based on the cost of the school that interests you and prepares a Paying for College report that helps you zero in on how much you may need to borrow. Keep in mind: this calculator only provides estimates. Your school's Financial Aid Administrator (FAA) is the final authority on the exact amount of your EFC. (CAC is best suited for families with children who are in high school.

Choose one of the following versions of the College Aid Calculator. We offer an online interactive version and a downloadable version. There is no fee for using either version. This is a free service provided by RIHEAA.

Online Interactive Version

Produce a personal Paying-for-College Report for your future reference.
Estimate public and private college Expected Family Contribution (EFC).
Project an inflation-adjusted EFC any number of years into the future.
Show instant before/after what-if answers (inheritance, bonus, etc.).
Compute education loan payments for Stafford, PLUS, Perkins, and others.
