Loan Servicers
When you apply for and receive a student loan, the lender or bank often chooses a third party "Servicer" to handle billing and repayment of your loan. This is the company that sends you bills each month and receives payments on the lender's behalf.
Your servicer is the best resource to use when you have questions about your student loans. Here is a list of common servicers and links to their web sites.
If you don't know who your servicer is or can't find it on this list, check with your institution's registrar's office to see if they participate in the National Student Clearinghouse's Student Self Service Program. If they do participate, you will be able to access a Loan Locator through your institution's secure student portal. If they do not participate in this program, please contact RIHEAA or your lender.
